iTeamwork.com’s free project management tool was created to serve a need for improved project management amongst the members of a team working on the same project. The site is the culmination of an effort to create free project management to work with a system that keeps everyone notified on the status of a project while keeping the mechanics of the project management simple. Users of iTeamwork have called the system pragmatic. It is vital in any project management system to involve the team members to be part of the solution rather than be an obstacle. Most systems require discipline for ongoing reliability. iTeamwork’s free project management only requires marking tasks as complete for the system to function. Using email notification takes care of other system functions since email is an integral part of everyone's daily activity.

A project is a temporary endeavour undertaken to create a unique product or service. Then what is project management? AMEC's IS Project Management methodology is based on the Project Management Institute Body of Knowledge and is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations while balancing the requirements of clients, time and budget. In a distributed IT environment like AMEC's we needed a tool to manage our projects in our distributed project environment with virtual project teams; iTEAMWORK allowed us to do just that. With its web access, print views, summary screens, and team member management we used iTEAMWORK to implement our most high profile project - the migration from NT to Active Directory.
